Justine Lipuma
Woman entrepreneur for the future of soils
What if the crucial issue for agriculture was the protection of nourishing soils? According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), 24 billion tonnes of fertile soil are lost every year: soil, the source of life, cannot be allowed to become depleted. In this didactic talk, Justine Lipuma describes the issues at stake and explains how to guarantee the sustainability of our food supply by preserving our soils and natural resources. Justine Lipuma, PhD in Microbiology, entrepreneur, and co-founder of MYCOPHYTO, is revolutionizing agriculture. This DeepTech startup uses mycorrhizal fungi as "natural fertilizers" to help plants adapt to drought, reduce the need for chemical fertilizers, and increase yields. Producing more and better with less is the co-founder’s motto.
