The Declaration of Human Rights is placed at the highest level in the hierarchy of legal standards in France. It was written in 1789, at a time when France had active participation in the slave trade. Our beliefs, too often influenced by the media, conceal France’s real history. Alexandra Baldeh Loras highlights our societies values and is an advocate of diversity. She encourages the debate on the French colored population and wishes to break the cultural stereotypes.
